Payment methods by GEO — the deposit conversion map.

Which methods have to be above the fold in each market, and what it costs when they aren’t.

Every market has one payment method that most players reach for first. If it is not the first thing they see in the cashier, deposit completion drops — in our measurements, by 15 to 40 percentage points depending on how far down it is buried. This is the map, and the cost of ignoring it.

The map

  • Brazil: Pix. Nothing else matters for licensed brands; deposits must come from the player’s own CPF. QR expiry handling and a retry path are the whole cashier.
  • India: UPI first, then local wallets. Card-first flows sit at the bottom of the Reg2Dep range for the market.
  • Canada: Interac e-Transfer first. Cards second. Anything else is noise for most players.
  • UK & Ireland: Debit cards, then open banking and PayPal where the licence permits. Apple Pay position matters more than anyone expects on mobile.
  • Germany: Bank-transfer methods (Sofort-style) and PayPal where available; note deposit limits are enforced across the market.
  • Netherlands: iDEAL. First, and ideally only on the first screen.
  • Sweden & Finland: Bank-ID-linked instant transfers; pay-and-play flows set the expectation for speed.
  • Mexico & Chile: Cash vouchers and local wallets alongside cards. Omit vouchers and you lose the unbanked majority.
  • Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana: Mobile money (M-Pesa and equivalents) and bank USSD. Cards are a minority method.
  • Crypto-facing brands: USDT on the chains your players actually use, with a fiat on-ramp that does not require a second registration.

What it costs

Three measurements from engagements, rounded:

  • Moving Pix from third to first in a Brazilian cashier: deposit completion on mobile +58%.
  • Moving Interac from fourth to first for an Ontario casino: registration-to-deposit +9 points.
  • Adding mobile money to a Kenyan sportsbook that was card-only: first deposits +140% in the first month, on unchanged spend.

Beyond the order

  • Show the minimum before submit. Discovering it as an error is the second most common deposit failure after declines.
  • Preset amounts tuned to the market. €10/€25/€50 in Germany; R$20/R$50/R$100 in Brazil.
  • Currency pre-selected from the account, not from a dropdown.
  • One retry, one alternative method on any failure, inside the same screen.

What to do on Monday

  1. List your top three deposit methods by share of completed deposits, per market. Compare to your cashier order.
  2. If the top method is not first, move it. This is usually a platform setting, not a development ticket.
  3. Measure deposit completion, not deposit attempts, before and after.
