Gambling is one of the hardest SERPs on the internet: affiliate groups with eight-figure content budgets, publishers with twenty years of domain history, and a search engine that treats the whole category as YMYL. Shortcuts work here for eight or nine months. Then a core update takes three years of compounding away in a weekend. You have cleaned up after that at least once, and you have no interest in building anything that could end that way again.
This role leads organic for operators and affiliate sites across several GEOs at once — Brazil, Canada, India, Tier-1 Europe — with native-language writers, a clean link programme and a monthly report tied to organic FTDs and revenue per visit rather than to positions.
What you’ll do
- Own the organic strategy for three to four clients across multiple GEOs: architecture, technical, content, links, migrations, and the reporting the CFO reads.
- Run forensic audits after core updates — which URLs lost, which competitors absorbed the traffic, what the survivors have — and turn them into a recovery plan with a timeline you are prepared to be held to.
- Build per-GEO strategies with native-language content, not translated content: different SERP features, competitor sets, publishers and regulatory constraints per market.
- Manage a bench of writers who bet — people who understand RTP, volatility, bonus mechanics and what a withdrawal actually looks like in that market — and the editorial process that fact-checks them against the live product.
- Run link acquisition that looks like a brand growing: digital PR around data, industry publications, partnerships. No marketplaces, no expired-domain networks, no exceptions.
- Lead migrations and technical work with the dev team: Core Web Vitals, hreflang, internal linking, crawl budget on large affiliate sites.
- Tell clients the honest timeline — nothing visible in month one, long-tail in months two to three, commercial terms in four to six — and defend it when someone offers faster.
What we look for
- 5+ years in SEO with at least two of them in gambling, on the operator or the affiliate side. You have ranked in at least two languages.
- You have recovered a site from a core update and can walk through what you removed, what you rebuilt, and how long the silent months were.
- Technical depth: log-file analysis, rendering, migrations at scale, hreflang that actually works. You can read a crawl and a Search Console export and know what to do next.
- Editorial judgement. You can tell the difference between a page that answers a query and a page that mentions it, and you can brief a writer so they produce the first kind.
- Commercial reporting. Traffic value and organic FTDs, not positions. You can explain to a client why revenue went up while rankings looked flat.
- Comfortable losing a pitch rather than agreeing to a timeline you would have to cheat to hit.
- Nice to have: Portuguese, German or Spanish; experience with App Store Optimisation; hands-on digital PR.
How we work
- Remote-first. Work from wherever you do your best work. We overlap for a few hours a day for client demos and for each other; the rest of the day is yours to arrange.
- No timesheets, no billable-hour targets. You are measured on the numbers your work moves — Reg2Dep, cost per FTD, D30 redeposit, organic revenue — not on hours logged.
- Four-day build cycles, weekly client demos. Something ships every week and the client sees it. Long silences and big reveals are not how we operate.
- Everyone talks to clients directly. Because a designer who has never heard an operator describe their CPA problem will design the wrong thing.
- Licensed operators only. Nobody here has to decide whether they are comfortable with a brief. If the brand is not licensed for the market, we do not take it.
- Your mistakes are welcome, once. Every case study we publish has a “what we’d do differently” section. That standard applies inside the team too.
What you get
- Competitive salary paid in the currency you choose, reviewed every six months against the numbers you moved.
- Budget for conferences — SiGMA, SBC, Affiliate World — and for any course or tool that makes you better at the job.
- Equipment of your choosing and a home-office allowance.
- A team that has sat on the operator side of the table and will argue with you about cohort math over lunch.
How to apply
Send work you are proud of and a short note about what you would want to do here. A link, a deck, a Loom, a dashboard screenshot with the numbers blurred — whatever shows how you think. No cover letter needed. We read everything and reply to everything, usually within a week.
We hire people from the industry, not people visiting it. If you have thought about this vertical and decided you are fine with it, we would like to hear from you.
