Most gambling sites are visually interchangeable — same dark gradient, same jackpot counter, same hero the player scrolled past on forty other brands. And the screen that decides whether an operator makes money, the cashier, is usually the one nobody designed at all. It shipped with the platform, and it loses players on every failed transaction.
This role designs the parts of a casino or sportsbook that players actually touch: brand identity, the lobby, registration, the cashier, promo systems, in-play. You will be measured on Reg2Dep and deposit completion — numbers that most designers never get to see and that you will see every week.
What you’ll do
- Design registration and deposit flows around observed drop-off — not around what the platform ships by default. Payment method order, failure recovery, verification timing, presets, minimums.
- Build brand identities that survive the first ad review and the tenth competitor screenshot: naming, identity, motion, 3D, performance creative systems.
- Design lobbies that lead with what a new player will actually try first, and promo systems the marketing team can change without a developer.
- Work in a component library from day one so that a new GEO or a new offer ships in days, and hand over a system the client’s team can build from without asking questions.
- Design for the real player: a three-year-old Android on mobile data. Test there, not on a desktop with fibre.
- Watch session recordings, read cashier data, sit in on client calls, and turn what you learn into the next four-day build cycle.
- Present your work to clients yourself, with the metric it is meant to move written on the first slide.
What we look for
- 4+ years of product or UX/UI design, with shipped work in casino, sportsbook, fintech or payments — anywhere a transaction has to complete on a phone.
- You have designed a cashier, a checkout or an onboarding flow and can show the before-and-after number. Portfolio pieces that end in “launched” are fine; ones that end in “+X% completion” are better.
- Strong visual craft: typography, motion, brand systems. You can make a brand memorable and still keep every screen fast.
- Fluent in Figma and in component systems; comfortable working alongside developers and writing the handoff they actually need.
- Curious about the industry. You know what RTP, wagering requirements and a Pix QR code are — or you will within a fortnight, because you have placed a bet to find out.
- Tolerance for an industry a lot of people have opinions about. We would rather you have thought about that and decided you are fine with it than discover it in month two.
- Nice to have: 3D and motion tools; experience with responsible-gambling UX patterns (limits, reality checks, cool-offs) done well.
How we work
- Remote-first. Work from wherever you do your best work. We overlap for a few hours a day for client demos and for each other; the rest of the day is yours to arrange.
- No timesheets, no billable-hour targets. You are measured on the numbers your work moves — Reg2Dep, cost per FTD, D30 redeposit, organic revenue — not on hours logged.
- Four-day build cycles, weekly client demos. Something ships every week and the client sees it. Long silences and big reveals are not how we operate.
- Everyone talks to clients directly. Because a designer who has never heard an operator describe their CPA problem will design the wrong thing.
- Licensed operators only. Nobody here has to decide whether they are comfortable with a brief. If the brand is not licensed for the market, we do not take it.
- Your mistakes are welcome, once. Every case study we publish has a “what we’d do differently” section. That standard applies inside the team too.
What you get
- Competitive salary paid in the currency you choose, reviewed every six months against the numbers you moved.
- Budget for conferences — SiGMA, SBC, Affiliate World — and for any course or tool that makes you better at the job.
- Equipment of your choosing and a home-office allowance.
- A team that has sat on the operator side of the table and will argue with you about cohort math over lunch.
How to apply
Send work you are proud of and a short note about what you would want to do here. A link, a deck, a Loom, a dashboard screenshot with the numbers blurred — whatever shows how you think. No cover letter needed. We read everything and reply to everything, usually within a week.
We hire people from the industry, not people visiting it. If you have thought about this vertical and decided you are fine with it, we would like to hear from you.
